1. Who we are

ABAKO International Partners AB (ABAKO) is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We are registered in Sweden and operate from two permanent offices — Gothenburg and Addis Ababa.

2. What we process and why

2.1 Strictly necessary

We store your cookie consent decision in your browser's local storage (abako.consent.v1). This records whether you accepted or declined optional tools, along with a timestamp. No personal data is sent to any server. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a functioning consent mechanism (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

2.2 Analytics — with your consent

If you accept analytics, we enable Umami — a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. Umami records page views, referrer, browser language, screen size, and device type. It does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and generates a daily-resetting anonymous identifier that cannot be linked back to you individually. All data is aggregated and self-hosted on our own infrastructure — it is never shared with third parties. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Retention: aggregated statistics are kept for up to 24 months.

2.3 Error monitoring — with your consent

If you accept analytics, we also enable GlitchTip in your browser. GlitchTip captures JavaScript errors and may include the page URL, browser type, operating system, and error stack trace. No advertising data, no cross-site tracking. All data is self-hosted on our own infrastructure. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Retention: error events are kept for up to 90 days.

2.4 Server-side error logging

Our web server logs technical errors to GlitchTip regardless of your consent choice. These logs may include the request URL and error details; IP addresses are processed transiently but are not stored. This is necessary for security and reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: up to 90 days.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Analytics and error monitoring data is processed exclusively on infrastructure we control. No data is transferred outside the EU/EEA.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
• Withdraw consent — at any time, for data processed on the basis of consent, without affecting prior processing. Use theCookie settings link to withdraw analytics consent.
• Lodge a complaint — with the Swedish supervisory authority,Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.

5. Changes to this policy
